All Griffith University students are eligible to apply for accommodation. This includes research assistants and full-time, part-time, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

There is a strict no pets policy at Griffith University Village. This includes goldfish and birds.

Griffith University Village hosts a diverse range of residents from all over the world and across Australia, and we see this as a true strength of our community. To ensure fairness, we do not give preference to any group over others. We encourage all applicants to submit the relevant forms as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Eligibility for student accommodation is determined based on availability of rooms and is determined on a 'first in, first serve' basis.

If you’d like to share a room with a friend, please specify this on your application form. Given the demand for rooms, we can’t guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we’ll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

The earlier you and your friend apply, the easier it is for us to assign you to the same apartment.

Spouses, partners, boyfriends or girlfriends can apply for accommodation at Griffith University Village, as long as they are students at Griffith University. Couples will be provided with individual rooms, however you can request to be allocated rooms in the same apartment. One bedroom apartments are single occupancy only.

Given the demand for rooms, we can’t guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we’ll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

If you are a first year Griffith University Student, Campus living Villages will release any qualifying first year University student from their agreement up to and including the 20th January 2013 should they:

1. Not receive an offer to study at Griffith University or,
2. Should you decide to study at another University

To be eligible for the cancellation of an agreement;

1. Full documentation must be required in order to be released from the agreement.
2. Only when documentation is provided prior up to and including the 20th January 2013 will the agreement cease   
3. Any unused portion of the first two weeks rent determined by the difference between the cancelation date up to and including the 20th January 2013 will be refunded
      

Any cancellation requested after the 20th January 2013 will require the continuation of rent to be paid until a replacement can be sourced to take over the agreement in question at which time the agreement will cease.

All residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and apartments clean. A cleaning service can be organised for a fee. Please enquire at Reception.

Broadband connectivity is available in every bedroom at the Village. Internet packages can be organised through our internet provider, AccessPlus. See fees for more information on packages.

We also have an e-library with computers and laptop connectivity where you can access the internet for free.

Griffith University Village is located on Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. To give you an idea of how close you are to your classes, it takes approximately five minutes to walk to the main courtyard, and seven minutes to the library.

Griffith University Village is approximately 20 minutes by bus from Surfer’s Paradise’s internationally renowned beaches, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Griffith University Village offers 52 week residential agreements, much like private rental accommodation in the area. A limited number of 26 week residential agreements are available for five bedroom apartments.

26 week agreements are perfect for those taking short courses, while 52 week agreements give residents the freedom to access rooms and facilities mid year and throughout the summer period.

If you choose a 26 week agreement, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that we’ll have a room available if you wish to extend your contract. A 52 week agreement will guarantee you the same room for the entire year. Many residents that choose to enter a 52 week agreement save on the time and effort spent moving to a different room at the Village mid-year.

To help out with your rent, you can elect to put your room into the letting pool if you choose to go away for the summer holiday. We'll endeavour to secure you a fee rebate by renting it to conference guests and other visitors. The rebate will be a portion of your residential fee, depending on the occupancy of all available rooms during the summer period.

Griffith University Village doesn't provide catering. However each apartment has a full kitchen including a fridge, freezer, stovetop and microwave so feel free to cook up a storm at any time of day.
