(Important Information about the Summer Letting Pool)
Griffith University Village residents have the option to place their room in the summer letting pool. The letting pool is giving your room physically back to Griffith University management to allow them to let it out to casual visitors and conference guests over the summer period. (This is to generate revenue to assist you in paying rent). Letting pool 1 operates from 1st December – 31st December.
You do not get the revenue directly from the individual casual visitor/conference guest. All revenue is “pooled” and divided amongst all residents, according to how many days your room is available. You still pay full Residential fee/Ucard when your room is in the letting pool. Letting pool 1 – December pool rebate is calculated and distributed by 14th January 2007.
The date you give your room back to Griffith University for the letting pool is not the date your room is placed into the pool. Your room is placed into the pool 5 days after the date you give it “physically empty” to Griffith University admin.
The reason it is placed in the pool 5 days after is to allow for:
- cleaning
- maintenance
- setup for casual visitors/guests
Your room must be completely empty of all your personal belongings and left clean.
